Privacy Policy — Flit

Last updated: 2026-08-11

This policy describes the information that the Flit app ("we", "our", "the app") collects, how it is used and the rights you have. We apply the principle of data minimization: we only collect what is strictly necessary for the game to work.

1. Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect: a unique identifier (UUID), a nickname you choose, and — if you use Sign in with Apple — an anonymized Apple identifier and a relay email address provided by Apple. While you play, we record your progress (levels completed, scores, XP, quiz statistics, league, badges) in order to power your profile, leaderboards and spaced repetition. We also collect minimal technical information (device model, iOS version, app version, language, anonymized crash logs) to diagnose failures.

2. Access to your device

Some features use your device's sensors, only at your request and after iOS permission: the microphone for voice chat in multiplayer games — it is off by default, only turns on through an explicit action on your part, and your voice is used solely for the live game, it is not recorded; the camera to scan a QR code (join a game, import a document) — the video feed is never recorded or transmitted; your location (only while the app is open) to suggest quizzes about the area you are in — it is never stored; the photos you pick one by one through the iOS picker (avatar, document import) — we never access your photo library. Beyond these uses: we do not access your contacts or address book, we do not buy or sell data, we never request Apple's app-tracking permission (ATT) and do not use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA): any advertising is strictly non-personalized (see section 5).

3. How your data is used

Your data is used only to: (a) run the game (save your progress, compute SRS reviews, award XP and badges); (b) display leaderboards and duels between players (a nickname and score appear, never your email); (c) prevent fraud and triage bugs; (d) improve the learning content in an aggregated, anonymous way.

4. Sharing with third parties

We rely on a limited number of technical processors strictly necessary to run the service: Apple (Sign in with Apple, APNs push notifications, App Store), our database and API host, content-generation providers used server-side to produce quizzes, and Google for rewarded advertising (see section 5). None of these partners are authorized to use your data for their own commercial purposes.

5. Advertising

The app may offer so-called "rewarded" video ads: they are never forced on you — you explicitly choose to watch one in exchange for an in-app benefit (for example, replaying a quiz). Premium subscribers never see any. These ads are served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited) in non-personalized mode: we do not use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and never request Apple's tracking permission. To select an ad, measure its delivery and prevent fraud, Google processes some technical data: IP address, device characteristics and diagnostic data. Learn more: policies.google.com/technologies/ads and Google's list of ad partners. In accordance with GDPR, your choice is collected before any ad is served via a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) and can be changed at any time from the app settings ("Manage my ad consent").

6. Data retention

Account and progress data is kept as long as your account is active. Technical logs are kept for a maximum of 90 days. When you delete your account, your personal data is erased within 30 days; anonymized or aggregated items (global statistics) may be retained to improve the service.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR and equivalent laws, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection. You can exercise these rights directly from the app (Settings → Account → Delete my account) or by writing to the address below. We respond within 30 days at most.

8. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data without parental consent, contact us so we can delete it.

9. Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Passwords and sensitive credentials are never stored in plain text. Despite these measures, no transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page. Significant changes will be notified inside the app.

11. Contact
